Tuesday, November 20, 2018 9:24 AM
The Physical Environment is the number one area for validation survey
citations. With increased regulatory compliance and ever changing code
revisions, every health care facilities professional needs to stay current
and be aware of the direction regulation is going. A competent
understanding of NFPA 99 – Health Care Facilities Code - is one of the
major code books for every health care professional. The Kentucky Society for Healthcare Engineers (KSHE) will host a full -day presentation with industry experts Dave Stymiest and Paul Rambos on November 30.
NFPA 99 is the central health care regulatory document used by accreditors,
state and local jurisdictions as it pertains to the physical environment.
While CMS adopted the 2012 version in 2016, there have been two revisions
since — 2015 and 2018 — of which every healthcare facilities professional
needs to stay abreast. Please alert any health care facility professional
to this very important and timely education by industry experts. This event is a part of KSHE's ongoing effort to ensure the highest quality and
safety for the patients their members serve.
