KHA Presents Awards and Installs New Board Chair at 90th Annual Convention

An Awards Luncheon was the culminating event at the Kentucky Hospital
Association 90th Annual Convention
in Lexington, May 8-10.
The highlight of the luncheon was the installment of the 2019-2020 Chair of
the KHA Board of Trustees Garren Colvin, chief executive
officer of St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Colvin will begin his
tenure as Chair on July 1.
Colvin has served as president and chief executive officer of St. Elizabeth Healthcare since June 2015. In January 2011, Colvin was named executive vice president and chief operating officer. Prior to 2011, he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has more than 30 years of experience in the industry.
KHA’s Distinguished Service Award, KHA’s highest honor, was presented to Nancy Galvagni, senior vice president of KHA. The award is
presented to individuals who have given exceptional service to the
Association and demonstrated outstanding leadership in the health care
Galvagni was honored for her outstanding achievements and dedication during
her 40-year tenure at KHA where she is responsible for state and federal
advocacy and policy efforts as well as hospital reimbursement and patient
safety and quality. She also serves as the Executive Director of the
Kentucky Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, a non-profit subsidiary
of the Association. She has served KHA with tremendous loyalty, drive and
passion and she is greatly respected by her colleagues and health care
leaders across the state.
KHA’s Health Care Governance Leadership Award was presented Judge Harry L. Berry, board chair of Hardin Memorial
Health in Elizabethown. The Governance Leadership Award is presented to
individuals who have had a positive and sustainable impact on the quality
of care in their community.
