On November 8, the KHA Health Care Leadership Conference brought Kentucky’s political leaders together with hospital leaders from throughout the state to learn about the issues that will affect hospitals in 2020. Members heard from Kentucky's newly elected Attorney General as well as state senators and representatives about upcoming legislation and plans for the new year. The media panel provided an interesting and informative analysis of the recent elections, which provided great insight into the political climate of the commonwealth.
KHA members also approved the Association’s legislative priorities for the upcoming session of the Kentucky General Assembly. (See article)
Attendees were able to hear updates on federal issues from AHA Vice President of Political Affairs Mark Secklecki, and attend a luncheon with guest speaker Tim Alberta, chief political correspondent for POLITICO.
Thank you to all the members who participated in the Conference. KHA looks forward to advocating on your behalf in the 2020 legislative session and hopes you will be involved in grassroots efforts. When hospitals speak with one powerful voice, the impact has a positive effect on all facilities throughout the state.
