Advocacy Alert: Contact Congressman Massie Today!
Thursday, March 26, 2020 2:06 PM
Due to the persistent efforts of KHA and its members, the final CARES Act (developed under Senator Mitch McConnell's leadership) was passed by the Senate and contains over $100 Billion in relief to hospitals and answers requests for help for Kentucky's hospitals. A summary of the key provisions of interest to hospitals is available at https://kyha.memberclicks.net/assets/docs/COVID19/CARESActKHASummary.pdf.
Unfortunately, Congressman Thomas Massie (KY-4) has indicated he will NOT VOTE in favor of the bill when it goes to the U.S. House for a vote. The House leadership was hoping for unanimous consent, but Representative Massie is planning to stop the bill. This legislation is crucial for the survival of many of the state's hospitals and MUST PASS the House.
Call to Action
Every Kentucky hospital should contact Representative Massie IMMEDIATELY to encourage him to VOTE YES for the Cares Act and provide the help our hospitals and businesses must have to survive.
