Collective Medical is a real-time event notification and care coordination
platform with a nationwide network including more than 1,000 hospitals.
Collective has been asked by several federal and state-based agencies how
we can support care teams and public health professionals identify,
isolate, treat and trace COVID-19. Collective is exploring numerous options and
is deploying, for existing client partners, the creation of a cohort for
COVID-19 diagnosis, upon request and free of charge. This
includes Collective's current client partners in Kentucky.
For hospitals, health systems, health plans and other health care
organizations not currently using the Collective platform,

On February 7, Deanna Parker, assistant vice president of emergency
services and EMS liaison at Hardin Memorial Health, spoke at a conference
with Collective Medical on the impact care collaboration has had on the
patients and staff at Hardin Memorial.
Last year, Hardin partnered with Stepworks, a substance use disorder (SUD)
treatment and recovery center, to help improve care outcomes for patients
struggling with SUD. The partnership allows Hardin to automatically
communicate with Stepworks via the Collective Medical platform when a
Stepworks patient returns to the emergency department (ED), in real-time. A
case manager from Stepworks can then reach out to the patient to discuss
how the patient got off track and decide the best course of action...

In 2016, workplace violence cost hospitals and health systems over
$1.5 billion, spent on security, training, staff turnover, medical care and
absenteeism. Additionally, over
77 percent
of emergency physicians believe that violence in the emergency department
(ED) has harmed patient care through decreased productivity, emotional
trauma and increased wait times.
Hardin Memorial Health in Elizabethtown uses Collective’s platform to
address the problem. Deanna Parker, Vice President of Emergency Services
says, “With Collective Medical, we can better track and record violent
incidents, helping us reduce instances of workplace violence, keep staff
safe and better care for our patients.”
Hardin Memorial’s charge nurses are empowered to record incidences...

 Nearly
88 infants
are diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) daily in the U.S.
Despite being widely recognized as the most tragic victims of the opioid
crisis — as it is the maternal use of opioids that causes the newborn’s
opioid dependency — the specialized care necessary to manage withdrawal in a
newborn often ends when that baby leaves the hospital. Post-discharge,
parents take their babies back to rural communities where the hospital
staff may be unaware of the newborn’s underlying illness and the risks
associated with it.
Earlier this year, Highlands Regional Medical Center, in Prestonsburg,
helped pioneer new functionality...

The Kentucky Hospital Association and Collective Medical Technologies are committed to
supporting patients with substance use disorder (SUD) and the providers who care
for them. Medication-assisted therapy and coordinating care is proven to
improve outcomes. As a part of this commitment, Collective Medical is
adding Kentucky SUD clinics, behavioral health practices and related
treatment facilities to this growing Kentucky network.
In Elizabethtown, Stepworks Recovery Centers is now connected to
Hardin Memorial Health. Through the Collective Platform, care managers
from Stepworks can now collaborate with Hardin Memorial emergency
department (ED) staff when a Stepworks client presents in the ED to ensure that
they aren't prescribed medications that could result in a relapse.
Deron
Bibb, a board of directors member at Stepworks, explains, “It can be frustrating for centers like ours when patients leave our doors,
relapse and return to the hospital — and we have no way of knowing because...
